How the city works

Top-down.
Full throttle.

The classic bird's-eye crime game, rebuilt for your phone. Here's everything you can do in Rush City — and a few things you probably shouldn't.

Behind the wheel

Drift first. Ask questions never.

Handling is the heart of City Rush: long slides, heavy hits that ripple through the bodywork, nothing wooden. Thirty kinds of vehicle, from the Pipsqueak and the Dullsworth Saloon to the Bankrupta GT, a school bus and a tank.

  • 30 land vehicles with made-up names (Kerbhog, Splatterbug 4×4, Bullhorn Roarmaster…)
  • Siren on: traffic and pedestrians try to make way
  • Every car comes tuned to its own radio station

Street furniture

Benches are optional.

Lamp posts, benches, bins and café chairs go flying when you clip them, and your car barely notices. Buildings are a different story. Buildings always win.

  • Street furniture never stops a car
  • Each hit costs only a scratch of damage
  • Courtyards have real arches you can drive through

GTA2-style police

They get out. They run. They cuff.

Cops work like the classics: the car pulls up, the crew piles out, runs at you and makes the arrest. No one-second busts, and nobody shoots from a car window. Look for the lime hi-vis vests, the white caps and the donut breaks.

  • Nobody fires from inside a vehicle; only the tank uses its cannon
  • At one star, officers run slower than you
  • Lose them with a respray, a lawyer, a change of clothes or a bribe
  • Busted: bail is $100 + 3 % of your cash, and the guns go

The wanted ladder

Six stars. One tank. Zero chill.

Stars climb from one patrol car to the army. Every pursuit vehicle is quicker than city traffic, so escape is never free. But one or two stars stay easy: the police only know where you were last seen.

  • The first star takes a real spree; hitting a cop is a star at once
  • One star fades about 16 s after they lose you
  • From three stars they track you, and the stars never fade on their own
  • At one or two stars a rooftop is a decent hideout

The tank

It’s not a cheat. It’s a cheat code.

Hard to get, easy to love. Steal it from the guarded army depot, pry the hatch of a crewed tank while it tries to flatten you, or buy one for $1,000,000. Inside, nobody can arrest you, and only another tank can hurt you.

  • One cannon shell destroys any vehicle
  • Crushes everything on wheels; armour repairs itself
  • Taking it from the depot sets off a five-star alarm
  • About 50 km/h, with a turret that aims itself

Your empire

From a coffee kiosk to the skyline.

Thirty businesses, from a $2,000 newsstand to a $1,000,000 casino share, each with two upgrades. They pay every two minutes of play and earn more the longer you hold them. After that: office floors, the Glass Tower, the Arena.

  • 30 businesses from $2k to $1M, upgrades up to $1.8M
  • Up to +50 % income for long-held businesses
  • 309 street shops to protect, rent or run yourself
  • Money comes in while you play, never while you’re away

Raids & turf wars

Somebody wants your stuff.

Every 9 to 14 minutes of calm play, a gang hits one of your businesses. Defend it in person or pay for repairs. Take down ten gang members on their turf to start a war; win it and the district pays you.

  • Three gangs: The Yard, Dockside and Velvet
  • A held district pays $600 a minute
  • Paid security makes a business raid-proof
  • Gangs come back for their turf every 12–18 minutes

Wave Mall

Opening when it opens.

The city’s new mall goes up during the story, from an empty lot to opening day, in six stages you can watch. Buy a stake at the site office while it’s cheap, then lease the empty units once the doors open.

  • Six construction stages, each built on the map
  • Stake from $325,000 at the first shovel; $650,000 once it’s open
  • Tenants wanted: Reel Late Cinema, Food Court Martial, Plot Holes books…
  • Pat’s Parking on the empty lot: $40 an hour, no refunds, no questions

Central Arena

Match day, every 23 minutes.

The Rush City Pigeons play at home three times in four. Fans flood the streets, nearby shops cash in, and Odds & Sods takes your bet. Got $40,000,000? The stadium is for sale, with your name on the roof.

  • Eight made-up teams, from Real Mediocre to Athletic Couch
  • Bets from $1,000 to $250,000 a ticket
  • Stadium businesses earn 3–5× on match days
  • Own it: $900,000 every match and ALEX ARENA on the roof

Rush Exchange

Buy low. Panic high.

A real trading floor in Ticker Tape House. Stocks, coins, gold and oil replay real historical daily prices under joke names. Go long, go short, add leverage, set stops, buy options. One trading day lasts 90 seconds.

  • 18 assets, from Sir Coinsworth to Treacle Crude
  • Leverage 2×, 5× or 10×, with real liquidation
  • Calls, puts, stops and limit orders

Riverside Royale

The city’s pension plan.

Slots, roulette, blackjack and the lucky wheel at the Riverside Royale, right on the river. The main floor takes $100 to $10,000 a bet. The VIP salon takes up to $1,000,000, and most of your dignity.

  • Main floor: $100–$10,000 a bet
  • VIP salon: $250,000 membership, bets up to $1M
  • Or buy a share of the casino itself for $1,000,000

Nightlife & dating

Night money spends the same.

Three clubs, a rhythm dance game, bottle service from $5,000 to $250,000 and four people worth dating: Rory, Dara, Iris and Alice. Bring a gift from Silk & Ribbon. Earn perks nobody else in town gets.

  • Clubs: The Chestnut, Lime & Lantern and Riverdeck
  • Six date venues, from street food to the chef’s table
  • Perks: free club entry, a free pit stop, a cousin who drops a star

Service jobs

Siren on. Shift starts.

Jump in an ambulance, fire engine or police car, hit the siren and start a shift: rush patients to hospital, hose down burning cars or stop getaway drivers. Every level pays more. Taxi fares too.

  • Paramedic, firefighter, vigilante and taxi
  • Reach level 8 in one shift for a permanent perk
  • Perks: free hospital, fireproof, or keep your guns when busted

Garages & workshop

Bolt on a bad idea.

Four garages keep up to six cars between sessions, upgrades included. The workshop in the Iron Yards bolts on armour plating, reinforced bumpers, nitro and a siren kit that makes traffic move over.

  • Garages from $50,000 (2 cars) to $500,000 (6 cars)
  • Armour plating $60k: −40 % damage of every kind
  • Nitro $90k: a 3-second boost, 20 s to recharge
  • Siren kit $40k: a siren on any car

Safehouses & backup

Hide. Change. Lawyer up.

Three safehouses to save and patch up in, seven outfits (a quick change can shed a star), up to two bodyguards and three law firms on speed dial. Dodge & Dash is cheap. You get what you pay for.

  • Safehouses $90k–$600k: free armour and first aid every 5 minutes
  • Outfits from Dad Jeans to the Gold suit (no regrets)
  • Bodyguards: $25,000 + $400 a minute each
  • Call a lawyer from anywhere to drop stars; the office gives better terms

Boats & the river

Dry socks not guaranteed.

Hire a runabout at Knot Your Boat Hire, buy a yacht from Bilge & Sons, or borrow one that’s moored. River Police launches chase you on the water without firing a shot. Drive a car off the quay and it sinks; you swim.

  • Hire from $250 a trip; buy from $14,000
  • Up to three boats at your own berths
  • Wanted on the water? Police launches come instead of cars
  • Barges and the Gull Express tour boat share the river

Port of Rush CityComing

Authorised vehicles only.

Cranes, container stacks, a feeder ship and Dockside Shipping’s office are built and waiting behind a locked gate on Embankment Road. The story opens it, along with a line of river missions.

  • The port is on the map; its gate opens with the dock missions
  • River missions: in the works

Rush City FM

Fourteen stations. Zero real brands.

Fourteen music stations, RUSH TALK and the police scanner. DJs talk over the intros, the ads sell things you shouldn’t buy, and the news covers your last car chase. Stations keep playing while you’re out of the car.

  • 210 songs by bands that don’t exist
  • Every car has its own default station
  • The air reacts to chases, the tank, explosions and getting busted

Easy or Normal

Easy is not a dirty word.

On Easy, dying or getting busted pauses the mission and you carry on after the respawn, with longer clocks, softer police and cheaper fees. Normal is the classic: fail, and you take the job again in one go.

  • Easy: missions pause instead of failing
  • Normal: the classic all-in-one-go retry
  • Easy is free for everyone, no purchase needed
  • Hard: coming later

26 languages

Twenty-six languages. One city.

Play in English or 25 other languages, from Español to 日本語 to Українська. Everything with meaning is translated. Streets, shops, cars and stocks keep their English names, like real signage.

  • Pick a language on the title screen or in the pause menu
  • The first run follows your phone’s language
  • Right-to-left Arabic, Urdu and Persian

Up on the roof

Take the fire escape.

Press Action at a fire escape and Alex runs up by himself. Roofs hide stashes (a sniper rifle on the tallest) and Roof Runs: timed plank courses with names like Pigeon Express and Mind the Gap.

  • Roof Runs pay on the first clear and for every new record
  • From three stars, an officer climbs up after you
  • 40 lost parcels hidden around town, some of them on roofs

Fair play

Comfort, not a shortcut.

One optional purchase, the Key to the City: $4.99, once. No loot boxes, no cash packs, no subscription. Ads never interrupt a mission, a chase or your first 15 minutes, and rewarded ads are always your call.

  • No cash packs: the climb is the game
  • No ads during missions, with stars, or in your first 15 minutes
  • No banner ads; at least 5 minutes of play between ads
  • Rewarded ads only when you tap
